Gene Harrelson was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas in April, 1944 to Jeanette Pate and Gene Harrelson, Sr. After graduating from the University of Arkansas School of Law, Fayetteville, in 1969, Gene began practicing law in Tearkana and has practiced continuously since that time, except for a tour of duty in Vietnam with the Judge Advocate General Corp in 1970 - 1971.
Gene enjoys the practice of law with his two sons, Jeff and Steve. He has been married to Terri Tackett Harrelson for 39 years and they have three grandchildren, Jed Tackett Harrelson, Hank Flanagan Harrelson, and Camille Smith Harrelson. Gene also enjoys hunting, fishing, and golfing at nearby Millwood Lake.
Gene has served as President of the Texarkana Bar Association and has served as Chairman of the Texarkana Housing Authority, on which board he has served for 35 years. Gene in a member of the First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas.
